On December 25, 1988, deputies with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call in the area of Sand Road in Bonita Springs. When they arrived they discovered a male deceased inside of a trailer on the property. Detectives arrived and conducted an investigation. The decedent was identified as Jose Guadalupe Garcia, a Hispanic male with a date of birth of December 12, 1931. The death was determined to be a homicide. The investigation continues.

STATUS: OPEN2002 Unidentified Remains from Zemel Road

STATUS: OPENOn January 6, 2002, a human skull and other bones were located in the bushes on the side of Zemel Road in Charlotte County. The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office responded to the area and began the investigation.
On July 29, 2019, a Forensic Anthropologist at Florida Gulf Coast University issued a report indicating the victim was a male, 5'3" – 5'7", 30-59 years of age, and the ancestry could be African/Black, but European or White and Latin American/Hispanic could not be ruled out.
In 2021, the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office Forensic Imaging team was requested to prepare an image of how the victim may have looked before he was killed. Included is a photograph of a Bulova watch with a clear stone at the 12:00 o'clock position that was found on the arm of the remains.

1980 Unidentified Remains from Acline Road and Tamiami Trail

STATUS: OPENOn February 12, 1980, skeletal remains were located in the bushes adjacent to the Seaboard Coast Line Railroad tracks in Charlotte County near Acline Road and US 41 (Tamiami Trail) by a bulldozer operator who was clearing trees along the railroad tracks. The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene and began the investigation. Two costume jewelry rings were also located, one size 6.5 silver spoon ring and one size 9 gold ring with a topaz stone.
In 2021, the CCSO Cold Case team requested the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office Forensic Imaging team prepare an image of how the victim may have looked prior to her death.
The victim is believed to be African/Black or Latin/Hispanic female between the ages of 18-35, height estimated to be 5'7" – 5'8". Time of death could be anywhere from several months to several years prior to the discovery.

Detectives were called to the scene and assumed the investigation. The decedent was identified as James French, a white male with a date of birth of May 22, 1972. The death was determined to be a homicide. The investigation continues.
