#TheSearchContinues for the person or persons ultimately responsible for Nicholson’s death
Lee County deputies were initially called to Nicholson’s Squire Lane home around 6 a.m. on Sunday, October 29, 2017 in response to a residential fire. Shortly after arriving on scene, Nicholson’s body was found inside the home, the apparent victim of a homicide. More than seven months later, Cristian Dilan was arrested in connection with the incident and was charged with burglary, robbery and accomplice after the fact to second degree murder. Dilan still remains in custody for his role in the crime, while the person or persons ultimately responsible for Nicholson’s death have yet to be held accountable for their actions.

David Benoit was a taxi driver working on the night of September 6, 1992. He reported picking up a fare about 1:00 a.m. His body was found the next morning in a field in the area of Market Street and Evans Avenue in Fort Myers. He had been robbed and shot. His taxi was found a block away and his personal vehicle was stolen from the parking lot of the taxi company and later found abandoned on I-75. His death was ruled a homicide. Investigation continues.

On July 25, 2017, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office located skeletal remains in a wooded area of Lehigh Acres. These remains were later identified as Jeremy Burgess, a white male with a date of birth of December 14, 1980. The death was determined to be a homicide. The investigation continues.

It’s been 3 years since Marcus Hood, 28-year-old, of Fort Myers was murdered after a series of gunfire at three scenes near the Gulf Coast Town Center. Hood was out with a group who he believed were his friends in the early morning hours of November 26, 2016 when gunfire rang out. Hood passed away after being shot several times. Detectives are certain that there are people who know exactly what happened that night, yet few have come forward to talk.

On February 11, 1983, deputies with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the base of the Cape Coral Bridge in reference to a body floating in the water. Deputies arrived and secured the scene. Detectives were contacted and they assumed the investigation. The decedent was later identified as Michelle Hart, a white female, date of birth 12/18/1962. The death was determined to be a homicide. The investigation continues.

On January 12, 2012, 29-year-old Anthony Scott was in the back seat of a stolen car on Evans Avenue in Fort Myers when he was shot multiple times by a subject sitting in the front seat. The investigation has indicated that Anthony and others were on their way to commit a robbery when he was killed. The investigation continues.
